This site can be used to direct you to our "One Doc's" for both C.P. United States History and A.P. United States History. Some of the links on the left are still useful to students and parents, but the "One Doc's" (parents and students) and our Google Classroom (for students) are the best places to go for information, assignments, and content for both CPUSH and APUSH for the 2020-21 school year.

A.P. United States History Homework

THE TEST CORRECTION EXEMPLAR

Question: 13. The actions of Toussaint L'Ouverture helped encourage

A. the invasion of Haiti by the American Navy

B. the sale of Louisiana in 1803

C. the purchase of Florida

D. the creation of the Monroe Doctrine

E. the passage of the Embargo Act

Correct Answer: B

I got question 13 incorrect because I thought that the Monroe Doctrine was the most valid option at the time because it made it so that America would not get involved with foreign countries. I now see that B is the best possible answer because Napoleon had been giving the issues in Haiti a lot of attention and he realized that it was more important for him to sell Louisiana, make $15 million, and re-focus his efforts on the war(s) in Europe, and not on the events taking place in the Caribbean. Therefore, "the sale of Louisiana in 1803" is the correct answer.
