SUMMER READING 2022:

Freshman English:

All students in CP and Honors Freshman English will read The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Read actively by using post-its or creating a set of notes to record your thoughts about the novel. You will use these notes to write a reflection that you will turn in for your first grade in the fall.

AP Literature and Composition:

Select one "bildungsroman" to read from a list provided. See THIS DOC for details

• Make sure to sign up for the novel (to create reading groups) by June 14th.

• Read the novel and annotate well

• Consider Essential Questions as you read

• Choose one of two writing assignments to complete:

  • a two-page reflection OR

  • four journal entries

English Composition (ENGL-100):

In Comp, students will read Stephen King's On Writing and will complete several responses about the book and about writing, and will fictionalize one of their own experiences using the tools of writing that King discusses. Find the details on this doc.
